LOOKING AT WHAT IS IN FRONT OF ME

(1 hour drawing, 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. -- 6B pencil on heavy weight, medium tooth surface, 9 x 12 Canson drawing pad)

"Since everything is but an apparition,
Perfect in being what it is,
Having nothing to do with good or bad,
Acceptance or rejection

You might as well burst out laughing."

-- Longchen (Tibetan Buddhist)

"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."

-- Thomas Merton (Trappist monk)

Nice post. That giraffe creature is freakin' me out. I love it. I like the notes you include on materials used, as I always wonder that stuff.
The quotes are terrific.
