Brian Willson: Satyagraha

After reading a post by robin andrea at Dharma Bums, I found this short video. Thanks so much to robin andrea for directing my attention to Gandhi, satyagraha and Brian Willson.

Yes, it's true Brian Willson is alive and well and living in northern California. He remains utterly committed to peace. He is an inspired and inspiring man.

ok. very cool. And Brian is my kind of person. But...why the bit at the beginning of the clip that leaves the impression he was killed when he was run down by the train? At least, that was the impression I got from it. Am I the only one? That left me with a strange feeling.

lee -- I watched the video again and can see why the beginning could give the impression that Brian Willson had died. Kris Kristofferson says that Brian Willson was run over by a train during a protest. He goes on to talk about Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

Because of robin andrea's post, I knew that Brian Willson was still alive. Without knowing that, I would probably have assumed, too, that being run over by a train had resulted in his death.

In the business I worked in for many years (politics), that type of intro was the standard 'misleading without lying' kind of approach. In other words state a fact, associate it with other facts and let the reader or listener draw (wrong) assumptions.
thanks for the clarification. That said - what a human being!
